Obama and the Left-Wing's efforts to tear him down

I think the current trend to bash the President may well be because we, as a society,

Reality Check

"
Weiss's data showed that the largest significant motive for watching reality television was social status, which leads to the joy of self-importance. Only slightly less strong was the need for vengeance, which leads to vindication. "Some people may watch reality TV partially because they enjoy feeling superior to the people being portrayed," Reiss said. "People with a strong need for vengeance have the potential to enjoy watching people being humiliated." "

I think that mindset may also be a symptom of what happens on the blogosphere. We have an almost pathological need to tear down our heroes. Reminds me of the bloodthirsty audiences who clamored for more and more barbaric entertainments at the Coliseum of Ancient Rome.

We don't want process, we want gladiatorial battles.

On The Urge to Primary Obama By the Far-Left

Pyrrhic Victories
By Raven
Yesterday, I was stunned to listen to Progressive talk show host Peter B. Collins and his guest from Progressive Democrats of America describe how they were planning to Primary Obama.
Why? He hasn't done enough, fast enough. He's too Centrist.
Collins referred to Obama as Bush Lite; his guest agreed. So did many of the callers.
These folks behaved exactly the same way they did when Bush was in office. I know, I remember listening to Peter B. Collins back then. They've never gotten out of outraged-attack mode. What would they do if they got everything they wanted? I suspect they would be frustrated and outraged about something else.
Interestingly enough, Peter's guest reflected that a potential difficulty could be the need to deal with the Black community. According to him, White progressives' initiative to primary the first Black President of the US could be perceived by Blacks as a betrayal, causing polarization and a split in the Party. So apparently-- these folks are already attempting to "control the message" in order to manipulate Black voters into accepting the Far-Left Progressives' agenda.
I suspect that some of our Progressive think-tanks have already begun “Astroturfing” Progressive sites in order to sway voters to (a) not vote, (b) vote only for Far-Left progressives and disconnect from the Democratic Party. There have been cases of them pretending to be "Black" Anti-Obama contrarians --again, to persuade Black voters to (a) not vote, (b) vote only for Far-Left Progressives and disconnect from the Democratic Party. Because, apparently-- some white Leftists believe that Black voters have a herd mentality to begin with.
If Far-Left Progressives are successful in Primarying President Obama-- then what? If the Democrats lose-- which is what I suspect some of the Far-Leftists really want-- well, what then?
Seriously. What is the Grand Plan? I've actually heard Far-Leftist Progressives say that letting the Republicans have power for the next 4-8 years is actually a win for us, because it will send the country into such a downward spiral that there will be a “Real Revolution”. I believe this to be a very old, very fondly nurtured fairy tale.
My thought is that they aren't looking at how many people will lose their homes, their jobs, and quite literally their lives, if that happens. Not just in Afghanistan, not just in Iraq and Pakistan. Here, in America. Think it's bad now? Primary Obama and see what happens.
